Self-Guided Burren Walking Tours

Walking the Burren Way in Ireland

Our self-guided Burren walking tours give you the flexibility to choose how many days you want to walk, as well as your total distance covered. This landscape is extraordinary and unique, so it is best appreciated slowly and on foot!

The Burren Way hike is located along Ireland’s west coast in County Clare. Famous for its unique limestone landscape of fossils, rock formations, and archaeological sites, the Burren is also rich in flora.

Among the many varied and beautiful flowers which have come to symbolise the Burren are spring gentian, shrubby cinquefoil, bloody cranesbill, and mountain avens. On the higher terraces, you will find the hoary rock rose.

The Burren is also home to the towering Cliffs of Moher and the nearby village of Doolin, a renowned centre of traditional Irish music. You can enjoy both during your self-guided Burren walking tour!

Walking the Burren Way from Liscannor to Ballyvaughan gives keen walkers a lovely waymarked trail to enjoy extensive local history and endlessly marvellous vistas. From exploring prehistoric monuments to basking in views from the summit of Slieve Elva at 344m above sea level, the Burren Way hike has something of interest for everyone.
