The Camino to Santiago de Compostela offers the Pilgrim the Opportunity to join a community of hikers on a journey of spiritual and personal endeavour to Santiago de Compostela.
The French Way is the most popular of the pilgrim trails to Santiago de Compostela.

Itinerary

Day 1: / Arrival to Sarria

Following your arrival into Galacia, you travel by public transport to Sarria, your starting point on the Way.

Day 2: / Sarria to Portmarin

Following breakfast in Sarria, your first day on the Camino Way takes you to the banks of the River Miño and the walled town of Portomarín. The church fortress of San Nicolás, Portomarín also contains the church of San Pedro and the Pazos of Conde da Maza.

Walking Distance: 21.5 km / 13.4 miles, Approximate walking time: 5 / 6 hours

Day 3: / Portomarín to Palas de Rei

Starting out after breakfast, you will rise from the riverbank on your journey to Palas de Rei, a bustling town with strong artistic heritage and home of the church of San Tirso.

Walking Distance: 25 Km / 15.5 miles, Approximate walking time: 6 / 7 hours

Day 4: / Palas de Rei to Arzúa

Leaving Palas de Rei after breakfast, your day on the Camino Way Pilgrimage moves you forward to the town of Arzúa passing the Rio Seco River and the busy hub town of Melide.

Walking Distance: 28 km / 17.4 miles, Approximate walking time: 6 / 7 hours

Day 5: / Arzúa to O Pedrouzo

Following breakfast in Arzúa, you will depart for your final overnight before Santiago in O Pedrouzo. Home of the distinctive Chapel of Santa Irene.

Walking Distance: 20 Km / 12.4 miles, Approximate walking time: 4 / 5 hours

Day 6: / Arrival in Santiago de Compostela

Departing O Pedrouzo, you are now on your last day of pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. When passing Monte del Gozo you will have your first glimpse of Santiago and in its centre, the magnificent Praza do Obradoiro Santiago de Compostela.

Walking Distance: 20 km / 12.4 miles, Approximate walking time: 4 / 5 hours

Day 7: / Santiago

Our services end with breakfast but don't forget to visit the Pilgrim Office to collect your Compostela!

    On behalf of Mary & Myself, I want to thank you for our wonderful trip. We loved every minute of it, even the wet bits.

    The B&B’s that you work with are second to none and in every place we stayed we were made to feel welcome and at home at all times. In each place, they even refrigerated our wine and provided us with wine glasses in order to enjoy our pre-dinner drinks. I would like to give a particular shout out to Donnach in The Castle B&B in Ballintoy. He told us that we were his first “Footfall” visitors so our feedback on his B&B is that it is excellent.

    Your notes and attention to detail on your trail instructions are excellent but just to note for yourself, the red trail down the side of the cliffs to the Giants Causeway is locked and not currently in use. Not sure whether the explanation is Covid related or a safety issue.

    And thank YOU, our fearless leader!   You did a great job tending your flock!
    I had a most wonderful time, albeit a little more challenging than I had expected.
    But, I am grateful that the wind only knocked me down on some Valencia heather and not over a cliff! ;
    The scenery was stunning and the lodgings (particularly Casey’s and The Grand) and meals were superb!!
    And the icing on the cake was the pleasure of your company and great sense of humor!
    A perfect package all together!!
    I have more compliments to pay, but I will save them for the next time we connect.  Perhaps you, Teresa and I can
    chat via Facetime after the New Year.  I’d also like to talk a little bit more about the Wicklow Mountains Tour.
