Get your New Year off to a healthy start by joining Footfalls on a unique Wicklow walking experience to see the sun rise over the Irish Sea for the very first time in 2018.

Level: Moderate (11 km – 310 m ascent)

Registration: Lynham’s Hotel in Laragh at 06.00 am, departing at 06.15 am (sharp).

Route: Leaving from the hotel, the walk takes us onto part of the Wicklow Way and through Brockagh Forest, onto the summit of Brockagh Mountain from a northerly direction (470 m).  Our descent takes us down the spur of Brockagh Mountain to rejoin the Wicklow Way which leads us back to Lynham’s hotel for a well-earned breakfast.

Cost: €30 per person to include the walk and breakfast.

Terms & Conditions

  • It is forbidden to light matches or discard litter along the routes.
  • DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON ANY OF THE WALKS
  • Participants  must be 16 years or older, or accompanied by an adult, who will assume complete liability for that person.
  • Walkers must be fully equipped and capable of undertaking the walk.Footfalls Walking Holidays LTD will not accept responsibility for any accident however it may arise.

If you need to cancel a walk that you have already paid for, please contact us before Wednesday the 28th of  December 2016. after that date walks must be paid for in full (NO REFUND)

Equipment

  • Good waterproof walking boots, with good ankle support.
  • Good rain jacket & over-trousers
  • Warm clothing, dress with layers rather than one heavy sweatshirt
  • Back Pack, lined with a plastic bag to contain some extra clothing
  • Hat and Gloves
  • Head Torch/Flashlight for the night walks
  • Walking poles and gaiters (Optional)
  • Snack, warm drink & water
  • A good sense of adventure & fun!

It is the responsibility of the participants to ensure they are suitably equipped for the walk.

Jeans and trainers/runners are not suitable for mountain walking.

Unless walkers are wearing suitable walking boots and clothing, they will not be allowed to participate in the walk.
