Sunrise Walk – January 2019

Guided New Years Day Sunrise Walk

Sunrise Walk, January 1st, 2019

Get your New Year off to a healthy start by joining Footfalls on a unique Wicklow walking experience to see the sun rise over the Irish Sea for the very first time in 2019.

Level: Moderate (12 km – 450 m ascent)

Registration: Glendalough Hotel Car Park @ 06.00 am, departing at 06.15 am (sharp).

Route: Leaving from the hotel, the walk takes us through the Monastic Settlement and out onto the Green Road and a section of the Wicklow Way. The trail takes us up the valley passing the Lower Lake and on to the Upper Lake before starting our ascent by Poulanass Waterfall into Lugduff Forest. Here we will join the Blue Trail that will guide us onto the Spinc that overlooks the Glendalough lakes and valley.
Our adventure takes us onto the Red Trail that will take us onto Lugduff Mountain, where hopefully, we will experience the first sunrise of 2019.
Our descent takes us along the Wicklow Way through Lugduff Forest and back to the Glendalough Hotel for our celebration breakfast.

Cost: €30 per person to include the walk and breakfast.
